That’s how Birds, Bees and Me began — just Kim Rogers and her mum Bette, dreaming up ways to combine their love of handmade craft with their love of their hometown, Boorowa.

It started small. A website. A few local markets.  Today, it’s one of Boorowa’s most loved little shops — open weekends only, because during the week, the family is busy hand making every quilt, every birdhouse, and every pot of honey.

And it’s not just Kim and Bette. Kim’s husband, Paul, tends the bees and harvests pure local honey. Her dad, Stan, builds beautiful timber birdhouses, which Bette lovingly decorates.

Each creation carries a piece of their story — stitched, painted, or poured into every item.

🧵 “If I’m making a poppy quilt,” says Kim, “Mum may paint a matching poppy birdhouse. It’s all connected.”
