Let's Connect with Tracy at 41 Brush Strokes
More than a gallery — it’s a space shaped by lived experience, creativity, and a genuine desire to share art with the community.
For Tracy Wetherell, opening her own gallery was the natural outcome of a lifelong love of art and a deep connection to the Hilltops.
After calling Young home for 24 years, she wanted to create a place where creativity could be shared, nurtured, and experienced locally — not just displayed on walls but lived and explored alongside others.

Although 41 Brush Strokes has been open just over a year, Tracy still speaks with heartfelt gratitude about the support she’s received. Every visitor, every conversation, and every piece of encouragement has helped shape the gallery into what it is today — a welcoming creative space grounded in community spirit.
Visitors often discover more than they expect. Alongside locally created artwork, the gallery offers a carefully selected range of art supplies, small gifts, and creative materials for artists at every stage. Tracy’s own artistic style moves fluidly between mediums, inspired by her personal experiences and a curiosity that keeps her work constantly evolving. This same sense of movement and change flows through the gallery itself — it’s a place where there is always something new to see.

The gallery is also a place of learning and encouragement. Tracy runs small group art classes designed for those who prefer a quieter, more personal creative experience. She has also created the Pink Pony Art Club, where children can explore art regularly in a supportive and nurturing environment. It’s a space where creativity is encouraged without pressure, and where confidence grows alongside artistic skill.
One of the things Tracy is most proud of is the trust other artists place in her by allowing their work to be exhibited within the gallery. Their contributions bring richness and variety to the space, ensuring the walls reflect not just one artistic voice, but many. It’s a collaboration that strengthens both the gallery and the creative community around it.
For Tracy, what makes the Hilltops truly special is simple — the people. Over the years, the community has made her feel at home, and that sense of belonging is something she hopes every visitor feels when they walk through the gallery doors. Her hope is that people leave feeling welcome, inspired, and perhaps a little more connected to their own creativity
When she’s not in the gallery, Tracy balances full-time work, enjoys swimming through the summer months, and treasures time with her two gorgeous grandchildren — moments that continue to inspire both her life and her art.
41 Brush Strokes is, as Tracy describes it, an art gallery, always changing — shaped by creativity, community, and the stories that continue to unfold within its walls.
You can also experience 41 Brush Strokes as part of the Hilltops Off The Beaten Track Art & Cultural Trail, in March, where Tracy opens her gallery and shares her passion with visitors from across the region and beyond.
