The Harden Art Prize is a national acquisitive landscape painting competition that shines a light on the beauty, diversity, and creativity of Australian artists. Based in the twin towns of Harden–Murrumburrah in regional New South Wales, the Prize has become a prestigious fixture on the national arts calendar.
Offering $15,000 in prize money, the competition attracts high-quality entries from across the country, celebrating both emerging and established artists who interpret the Australian landscape through watercolour, acrylic, and oil mediums. Each entry begins with an online submission, with finalists later invited to send their physical works for exhibition and final judging.
More than a competition, the Harden Art Prize is an invitation — to see the land through artistic eyes, connect with regional creativity, and be inspired by the stories, colours, and textures that define Australia’s landscapes.
The 2026 Harden Art Prize Exhibition runs from 18–26 April 2026 in Harden–Murrumburrah, NSW. Visitors can immerse themselves in a curated showcase of outstanding landscape works from across Australia, with winners announced during the exhibition.
Finalists’ artworks are exhibited locally, creating a vibrant meeting point for artists, collectors, and art lovers alike — a highlight of the regional arts calendar that draws attention to talent thriving beyond city galleries.
